Man United books record revenue as losing streak enters seventh year
On a bleak Wednesday afternoon in Manchester, Manchester United revealed the annual figures for the 2025/26 season: a record revenue of £677.6 million, but a net loss of £43 million, officially marking the club’s seventh consecutive year of loss.
Financial details and income
The club generated revenue of £677.6 million, a new record and an increase compared with £666.5 million in the previous year. Notably, this revenue was achieved without European football; TV money rose sharply thanks to the third‑place finish in the Premier League.
Despite the revenue growth, United recorded a net loss of £43 million, extending the streak of loss‑making years to seven. The loss grew from £33 million to £43 million, partly due to £8.2 million in exceptional costs, including the financial impact of former manager Rúben Amorim’s departure and further restructuring within the club. Depreciation costs on players and financing costs also rose sharply.

Chief executive Omar Berrada responded: “We are pleased that we have achieved record revenue and a record EBITDA.” He emphasized that United wants to remain financially disciplined.
With the return to the Champions League, the club expects revenue for the current financial year of between £740 million and £760 million, a further increase compared with the previous season.
