Malagò's future hangs in the balance, the Council waits in Copenhagen

While in Copenhagen the assembly of the European Football Club (ex ECA) was held, the Corriere dello Sport correspondent reported the phrase “If Malagò falls, everything will come down here”, emphasizing that the Board, scheduled for October 6 or 7, will decide the future of the registration case.

The assembly brought together European executives to discuss the Italian situation, with the statement “Italy is great and will return to the top level” highlighting the interest in the country, where a newly elected president with almost 70 % of the votes is already at risk of being placed under administration for a legal issue related to registration.

Italians with questions at the table

Among those present, Percassi of Atalanta, Friedkin of Roma, Chiellini of Juventus, Ferrari of Fiorentina, Longo of Genoa and Baldissoni of Monza, raised numerous questions about the case.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin responded bluntly: “this story for him is neither heaven nor earth”, indicating an institutional distance.

Nasser Al‑Khelaifi, executive of the EFC and Paris Saint‑Germain, stated: “Italians like to live in drama. If politics steps into football, football is over”.

CONI president Giovanni Buonfiglio announced that the Board will express itself on October 6 or 7, a decision that could once again undo the progress of the National Team.
