Maignan's Bournemouth red card puts Milan's Europa hopes at risk
Mike Maignan was shown a straight red card in the 27th minute of AC Milan’s Europa League clash with AFC Bournemouth after his hand struck Tyler Adams during a corner, a decision confirmed by VAR that also gave Marcus Tavernier a penalty to make the score 2‑0.
The dismissal came when Maignan pushed his hand into the face of Tyler Adams during a Bournemouth corner, leaving no chance of playing the ball. A VAR review confirmed the offence and the referee produced a straight red card.
Ruben Amorim responded by sacrificing Omari Hutchinson and introducing 19‑year‑old Lorenzo Torriani as the new goalkeeper.

Europa League suspension
MilanNews24 Maignan will certainly miss Milan’s next European fixture and faces at least one Europa League game out. UEFA could extend the ban if it classifies the incident as violent conduct.
UEFA suspensions apply only to its own competitions, meaning Maignan remains available for Serie A. He is set to travel with Milan for the Sunday trip to Udinese and the derby against Inter on 31 October.
The goalkeeper will sit out the Ferencváros visit to San Siro on 5 November. Should UEFA impose a longer ban, he could also miss the Olympiacos match on 26 November.
