Maduro hails Ajax signings as a turning point for the club
In a candid interview recorded tonight, former Ajax midfielder (Ajax-middenvelder) Hedwiges Maduro praised the club’s recent Ajax‑aanwinsten, highlighting that the Amsterdammers have already secured Daley Blind, Julian Brandt, Marc ter Stegen, Caio Henrique, Tolu Arokodare and Marcos Leonardo, a shift he welcomes.
Maduro told VoetbalPrimeur he is very satisfied with the Ajax signings so far and has high expectations of the newcomers. He emphasized that the contracts already show a different approach compared with previous seasons.
“I expect the most from the experienced players, because I think they will have immediate impact. You already see it happening with Blind,” Maduro said, pointing to the early appearances of the defender.
“Brandt arrived as a fit and experienced player, so I also expect a lot from him,” he added, stressing Brandt’s fitness and experience as key assets for Ajax’s ambitions.
“I am glad those purchases are already here, because that is a big difference compared to past years,” Maduro continued, naming the quick completion of the deals a sign of progress.
As a former Ajax player himself, Maduro’s approval carries weight and underlines his belief that the new signings will immediately strengthen the team.
