Lukas Ambros imposes himself at Anderlecht, shines in the Europa League

Lukas Ambros, 22, signed this summer for Sporting Anderlecht. He quickly joined Vitor Bruno's squad and established himself during the Europa League qualifying rounds, with two goals and two assists in thirteen matches.

European journey and debut at Anderlecht

During the Europa League qualifying phases, the Czech recorded two goals and provided two assists, figures noted across all matches. In total, he has already played thirteen games in Sporting Anderlecht's colours.

In the Jupiler Pro League, his tally remains empty, even though he has solidified his place in Vitor Bruno's squad. This lack of league goals contrasts with his impact in Europe.

First Czech selection and future ambitions

His season start earned Lukas Ambros a first call‑up with the senior national team of the Czech Republic. “I haven’t really spoken to the coach about his plans for me yet, but I usually find myself in a more central position in training,” he said.

“A starting spot? You have to ask the manager, Santi Denia, appointed in August,” added the young international, emphasizing his desire to help both teams.

At sixteen, he left the Czech Republic to join Wolfsburg, before spending a season in Freiburg. “As a person, that episode changed me. You leave your family and friends, you have to start everything over,” he explained.

In 2024, he signed with Górnik Zabrze, a Polish club less prestigious than the German sides. “My agent and I assessed the situation properly before going there. This experience has given me a lot, both in my private life and in my football career,” he affirmed.

This summer, he reached a new milestone by joining Anderlecht, with Europa League qualification as the first goal achieved. “We now want to show something there and, of course, deliver good performances in the league. The season is still long, there are many matches left and I want to maintain my level,” he concluded.

Lukas Ambros’s path, marked by spells in Germany, Poland and now Belgium, illustrates a rare adaptability. His development could strengthen both Sporting Anderlecht and the Czech national team in the coming months.
