Lukaku’s Naples exit edges closer with Ligue 1 and US options
The future of Romelu Lukaku at Naples is far from certain. The Belgian striker, currently in conflict with the Partenopei board, appears set to leave Campania.
According to La dello Sport, AS Monaco have shown interest in the 33-year-old. The Principality club, uncertain over the future of American international Folarin Balogun, have reportedly enquired about the former Inter Milan striker.
Options for Lukaku are multiplying. The Belgian has already instructed his agent to find him a new club. The all-time leading scorer for Belgium’s national team reportedly has multiple destinations on the table.
A move to the United States, specifically Atlanta United, is one possibility. Turkey and Saudi Arabia also feature among the destinations being considered, with the Saudi track still active. However, La notes that the Antwerp native would prioritise a European project.
The Italian daily did not specify whether any formal offers have been made to Lukaku or his representatives.
