Liverpool spent €35 million on Leoni, but Inter and JUVE watch him

Italian central defender Giovanni Leoni is close to returning to the pitch, but while Liverpool invested almost €35 million to snatch him from Parma a year ago, Inter and Juventus (often referred to as JUVE) are keeping him under observation in the transfer window.

Changes at Liverpool and injury

At Anfield Liverpool has changed its face on the bench, with Andoni Iraola arriving to lead the team.

On the field the super signing Jacquet has been completed, who also shines in the French national team alongside the re‑discovered Virgil Van Dijk.

Leoni, born in 2006, had shown an immediate impact, but suffered a knee twist and a partial tear of the cruciate ligament at the end of a high‑impact match.

After a year of recovery, the defender is now ready to resume activity.

From now until January he could be sent out on loan, while the market remains uncertain.

Inter and Juventus, according to The Sun, are monitoring the return of Leoni and are ready to offer him playing time if he does not regain continuity at Anfield.

Both the black‑and‑blue and black‑and‑white defenses want to complete a promising super signing in defense next summer.

If he returns to the level shown at Parma, his profile would be ideal for both teams.

Thus, despite Liverpool's huge investment, Leoni's future appears to be heading towards the great Italian defenses.

The next step will depend on his ability to regain the lost form.
