Liverpool rushes for Barcola as Bayern rekindles €150m pursuit

Liverpool must move quickly this summer to secure French winger Bradley Barcola, whose €150 million valuation makes him a key target to bolster the English club’s attack as they look to replace departing firepower and to add pace on the flanks after recent injuries.

Bayern Munich of Munich have renewed their interest in Barcola, adding pressure on Liverpool to reach a decision before the summer window shuts. The German club’s renewed pursuit comes as the winger’s valuation hovers around €150 million, a figure that Liverpool must weigh against their own budget.

Bayern would consider signing Barcola if a move involving Michael Olise materialises, according to club insider Christian Falk. Falk said, “It is true: Bradley Barcola is one of the names on the shortlist at Bayern Munich if they have to replace Michael Olise.”

Bayern’s current financial situation leaves little room for a €150 million‑plus deal, making the price appear beyond their reach for now. Paris Saint‑Germain, the Ligue 1 champions, have also expressed a desire to retain the French winger and have floated amounts in the same region should they decide to sell.

Barcola’s contract runs out in 2028 and his salary in Paris is €7‑8 million gross, roughly half of what Olise earns at Bayern. These affordable wage demands would allow Bayern to fit Barcola into their payroll without breaching financial constraints, but Bayern do not want to sell Olise this summer, limiting their willingness to meet Barcola’s price. The German side’s reluctance to part with Olise means they lack the financial boost that could make a €150 million acquisition feasible.

The report stresses that Liverpool must act with conviction and speed because Barcola’s valuation hovers around €150 million. If the club delays, the opportunity may disappear as other suitors intensify their bids.

Liverpool now faces a dilemma: move early and meet the hefty price tag, or wait and invite competition from clubs with different sporting pulls. If Michael Olise becomes available, Bayern’s stance could shift dramatically, potentially reigniting a bidding war for the French winger.
