Liverpool Mbappé's mother dreamed of Anfield, but his future is at PSG

In an interview given to the American newspaper The Athletic, Kylian Mbappé recounted how, in 2016, his mother‑agent wanted to persuade him to sign for the Reds, envisioning the future of the young captain of the Bleus in the Premier League. Fayza Lamari, Mbappé’s mother and his agent for years, looked favourably on a move to an English side already in 2016. At the time, the proposal was already on the table and the family was seriously considering the possibility of moving to Anfield.

“My mother always said: ‘You’ll play at Anfield and it will be amazing for you’,” the Real Madrid striker said. Lamari visited the city, the stadium and spoke with the club’s people, describing it as “fantastic, everyone is friendly and it’s a family club.”
