Liverpool chase Premier League star Tzolakis as £40m bid looms

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a £40 million bid for Hull City’s 23‑year‑old Greek goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, whose Premier League performances have attracted interest from several top clubs. The 23‑year‑old has impressed since joining Hull City, prompting speculation that he could replace ageing Brazil international Alisson Becker at Anfield.

Liverpool’s interest stems from a need to replace ageing Brazil international Alisson Becker, whose contract will not last forever. The club has also evaluated Giorgio Mamardashvili, but his performances have not convinced the Merseyside side that he can be the long‑term solution.

Rival interest intensifies

Tottenham have also been linked with the 23‑year‑old, and TEAMtalk reported that Spurs are keen to secure his services. The Spanish outlet Fichajes added that Liverpool are now scrutinising the Greek keeper closely, suggesting a competitive race for his signature.

Hull City are unlikely to part with a player who has become pivotal after his fine Premier League displays. Nevertheless, the club recognises that big clubs will soon be knocking on its door, making his departure appear inevitable.

Liverpool have already seen a wave of departures, with Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander‑Arnold all leaving in the past two summers. Replacing such experience while maintaining stability adds pressure to secure a proven goalkeeper quickly.

If Liverpool move swiftly, they could outpace Tottenham and other interested clubs, ensuring Tzolakis becomes the preferred option to eventually succeed Alisson Becker at Anfield.
