LIVE: Man Utd hunt left‑back, Barcola targets Liverpool, Fernandez £120m deadline

With just three weeks left in the summer window, Manchester United are urgently seeking a new left‑back after Newcastle refuse to sell their target Lewis Hall, while Liverpool aim to close a deal for Paris Saint‑Germain winger Bradley Barcola despite a £145 million price tag, and Chelsea have set a £120 million deadline for Enzo Fernandez.

United's left‑back dilemma

United’s main priority is signing a new left‑back, but Newcastle aren’t willing to sell their main target Lewis Hall. Michael Carrick’s side could also strengthen in midfield and upfront as the window closes.

Liverpool chase Barcola

Liverpool are working on a deal to sign PSG winger Bradley Barcola, yet they are not prepared to meet the French club’s £145 million asking price. PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi admitted there is a chance Barcola could leave before the window shuts, adding that “we’re working calmly, we don’t talk too much”.

Chelsea have given clubs a deadline to pay £120 million if they wish to sign Enzo Fernandez before the end of the transfer window. Manchester City have been strongly linked with an interest in the midfielder, and Xabi Alonso wants the situation sorted before the season opener against Fulham.

Arsenal want to bring in Aston Villa and England defender Ezri Konsa before the deadline and continue to look at alternative options after failing to convince Vinicius Jr to leave Real Madrid.

Leicester City prospect Louis Page is favouring a move to Manchester United over Arsenal. The 18‑year‑old is also being pursued by the Gunners, but United are actively working on the deal.

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of club captain Cristian Romero, with Atletico set to pay a total fee of €40 million (£34.1 million). They beat off competition from Inter, Barcelona and Arsenal.

Rio Ferdinand reckons Marcus Rashford will be “like a new signing” for Manchester United after his return, describing him as “a purring Ferrari” with “a smile on his face and a little spring in his step”.

The summer window closes on September 3rd, so time is now running out for clubs to complete their moves.
