After her dream debut in the Women’s Super League, Lisa Baum dedicated the goal to her late brother, an emotional gesture that immediately caught the fans' attention. The 19‑year‑old footballer showed that personal motives can be just as strong as sporting goals.

Debut Winning Goal in First Premier League Match
Right in her first Premier League match, the top talent Lisa Baum scored the winning goal, a debut goal that led to a 1‑0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. This goal marked not only the start of a promising career in the Women’s Super League, but also the beginning of an emotional story.
On Instagram the footballer wrote: “This goal is for you, Dennis” and shared the 1‑0 win. Her message immediately received numerous reactions, as she used her own Instagram page to process the loss.
Her brother died in a car accident in 2022 at the age of 17. “He was my everything. Losing him was the worst thing that has happened to me,” she told the world earlier this year. She wears a tape with his name during matches and has his initials on her boots.
Born in Tanzania, Lisa Baum played for Hamburger SV in the 2nd Bundesliga until 2025, before moving to Leipzig. There she completed 25 Bundesliga matches and scored six goals; her contract with the Saxons was originally set to run until 2028.
At the international level, the footballer has been involved with all German youth national teams, but she is not yet in the squad of national team coach Christian Wück. This makes her one of the most expensive German female footballers, a sign of the growing importance of women's football in England and Europe.
