In his message, Gallagher wrote: “I have just been informed by someone in a very, very high position that if we lose our appeal, which we will not, we will receive a fine and a ban and that’s all.” The singer emphasized his certainty that Manchester City will win the appeal and will not have to face heavy measures. He also urged those who, in his view, are only waiting for consequences for the club to keep quiet.
The tone was provocative, with the final line “So all of you, neurotic despairers… shut up.” Gallagher thus wanted to highlight the pressure, he says, that rests on the club’s detractors.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher, Liam’s brother and also a lifelong Manchester City fan, expressed surprise at the news of the club’s conviction. According to his account, the Citizens were found guilty of almost all eight hundred and some charges for breaching the Premier League’s financial regulations between 2009 and 2018.
During an interview, Noel said: “I was surprised when I heard it on the radio, because the club had always assured us that the accusations were not correct.” He added that the decision is “a blow, especially for the fans and the players.”
