Leipzig‑PSV duel puts Tuesday's Champions League in the Dutch spotlight
Tuesday in the Champions League was mainly about RB Leipzig – PSV for some Dutch. Besides that confrontation, however, many other European duels were played, from France to Istanbul, with striking goals and surprising twists.
French and Spanish spectacles
In France the Portuguese top club won with Luis Suárez and newcomer Issa Doumbia as goal scorers. Suárez opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, after which Doumbia doubled the lead in the 74th. In Spain a quick first goal from Parris (49′) and a later strike from Mickels (88′) provided a comfortable victory for the home side.
English, German and Italian surprises
Jurriën Timber, a Dutch international, started for The Gunners with a goal in the 64th minute, after which Arsenal put further pressure on the French with goals from Eze (67′) and Saka (71′). In Istanbul a surprise seemed to arise when Cim Bom Bom booked an early lead (28′), but Barcelona turned the match around with a series of goals from López, Gordon, Adeyemi and others. In Italy Nicolò Tresoldi scored a hat‑trick for Inter at San Siro, while Martínez and Vermant added more later.

The Red Bull Arena gave PSV a chance, but Ivan Perišić could not take it. Gruma eventually provided the only goal (75′) and PSV returned disappointed to Eindhoven.
Viking FK faced Bayern München. After a halftime score of 0‑0 Bayern increased the pressure in the second half, with an equaliser from the Norwegian striker Stensness (2′) and a later strike from Kane (54′, penalty). The match ended in a 3‑3 draw, in which Kane scored twice.
In the Estadio de la Cerámica El Submarino Amarillo delivered a classic Champions‑League‑evening with goals from Rrahmani (8′), Mikautadze (23′), Mouriño (26′) and Oluwayesi (86′).
