Leipzig eye Asllani as Rômulo challenger after €25m medical clearance

RB Leipzig are looking to sharpen their attack after a crowded striker roster, and the arrival of Kosovo international Fisnik Asllani promises fresh competition for Rômulo. The 23‑year‑old completed his medical, with Sky Germany, the Leipziger Volkszeitung and confirming the clearance.

The Saxons have an oversized professional squad of 38 players, leaving the forward line heavily stocked and prompting the search for additional quality.

Sky Germany, the Leipziger Volkszeitung and all reported that Fisnik Asllani passed his RB Leipzig medical, clearing the final hurdle for the move.

Florian Plettenberg disclosed that the final transfer fee is expected to be in the €25 million range.

The 23‑year‑old will trigger the release clause in his Hoffenheim contract to switch Bundesliga outfits, as previously reported.

Asllani, a Kosovo international, is set to join Leipzig’s training camp in Saalfelden and start working under new head coach Martín Demichelis.

Hoffenheim had already omitted Asllani from their own training‑camp squad as the transfer moved toward completion.

Last season the forward emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s breakout players, scoring 11 goals and providing ten assists.

He is expected to provide competition for Rômulo at centre‑forward, though it remains unclear whether Leipzig will move another striker out of the squad following his arrival.
