Leeds United target ex-Feyenoord star, PSG eye Spanish World Cup hero

Leeds United, a Premier League club, have placed former Feyenoord forward Igor Paixão high on their transfer list, while Paris Saint‑Germain have expressed interest in Spanish World Cup hero Ferran Torres. Both moves come as clubs rush to strengthen squads ahead of the new season.

Igor Paixão left Feyenoord three seasons ago, joining Olympique Marseille for a fee of €30 million and signing a contract that runs until mid‑2030. Marseille now value him at €50 million, but Leeds United are prepared to meet a €35 million offer to bring the Brazilian attacker to England.

During his three years with the Rotterdam side, Paixão helped Feyenoord capture the Eredivisie title in 2023, the KNVB Cup in 2024 and the Johan Cruyff Shield later that year, completing a domestic treble of trophies.

Paris Saint‑Germain’s target, Ferran Torres, was instrumental in Spain’s World Cup triumph, scoring in the final victory over Argentina. The striker remains under contract at FC Barcelona, which has so far refused to release him, despite his 16 La Liga goals last season.

These transfer rumours illustrate how clubs across Europe are actively scouting talent as the upcoming season approaches, underscoring the intensity of the market and the strategic priorities of teams in the Premier League and Ligue 1.
