The Turkish club released a statement on Saturday in the Sports section, stating that the 31‑year‑old player was feeling heel pain after the league match on September 11 against Erzurumspor, where he had scored his first goal for the Black Eagles in a 3‑0 win. MRI scans and CT scans confirmed the edema, and the medical team immediately began treatment, without specifying the length of his unavailability.

This injury forced him to withdraw from the Europa League match against Marseille, after having been slightly injured during the game against Erzurumspor. The club did not indicate when he will be able to resume training.
