Lavia starts, Seys in defence, Mbappé absent for France

The Belgian coach Mark van Bommel presented on Sunday the probable line‑ups for the Belgium‑France clash. Roméo Lavia could be in the starting eleven in midfield, Joaquín Seys expected at left‑back, while Kylian Mbappé is absent from the French side. Belgium Changes

Mark van Bommel said his players were informed before the final training session to ensure a clear meeting. “My players are briefed before the last training, which allows for a clearer final session for everyone,” he said. This approach differs from that of Roberto Martinez, who presented his eleven three hours before the match, or Xavi, who announced the Netherlands' eleven against Germany two hours beforehand. Midfield could be bolstered by Roméo Lavia, who would aim for his first start with the Red Devils. France Without Mbappé

On the French side, Kylian Mbappé's absence opens the door for Désiré Doué, who is expected to start up front. Andy Diouf, a midfielder trained at Inter, is eager to begin at left‑back, providing an additional option for the French defence. The squad is also awaiting decisions regarding the replacements for Charles De Ketelaere.

The French starters include Maignan between the posts, Koundé, Upamecano, Lacroix and Diouf in defence, Camavinga, Koné and Cherki in midfield, followed by Olise Etat, Dembélé and Doué up front. Threatened with suspension are Koné, Upamecano and Lepaul. No other changes have been announced for now.

The refereeing will be entrusted to Rade Obrenovic, from Slovenia, who will officiate the match. His presence ensures a neutrality appreciated by both teams. Obrenovic has already overseen several international fixtures.
