Kyle Walker considers removing his tattoo if City loses titles

If Manchester City has to surrender titles because of the financial scandal, that also threatens to have consequences for the 36‑year‑old defender Kyle Walker, who now plays for Burnley but was under contract with the Citizens from 2017 to 2025, with 319 official matches to his name.

Walker’s legendary status

Walker grew into a club icon at Manchester City. He has won a total of seventeen official trophies with the Citizens, including four consecutive English league titles. His 319 appearances make him one of the most experienced defenders at the club.

After achieving those four championships he had the text ‘4 in a row’ tattooed on his shoulder, a lasting symbol of those successes.

asked whether he would have the tattoo removed if City has to surrender the titles. Walker replied: “I will probably have to do that, but hopefully we can keep them.”

He emphasizes that sporting achievements must not be underestimated. “Look at the legendary Manchester United team, they have never managed to win four titles in a row,” Walker said.

“So there is only a select group of us who can say we have won four in a row,” he concludes, underscoring the exclusivity of their achievement.

Walker fears that the sanction Manchester City is expected to receive will also have consequences for him, and that he may have to have his tattoo removed, although he hopes he can keep it.
