Konaté out due to injury, Zidane calls up young Leny Yoro

Thursday 24 September 2026, the French Federation announced that Ibrahima Konaté is out with a slight knee sprain, while Zinedine Zidane has called up the 2006‑born Leny Yoro for the upcoming Nations League.

Konaté, who plays for Real Madrid, will have to stay in Spain to complete his rehabilitation; his place has been taken by the young Under‑21 defender, Leny Yoro, currently on the books at Manchester United.

Yoro had already been called up by Didier Deschamps, but had not yet made his debut; now he will have the opportunity to play against Turkey, Belgium (home and away) and Italy in the four fixtures of the Nations League.
