Kompany's unprecedented Bayern training session amid World Cup break
Vincent Kompany created an unusual scene on Tuesday at Bayern Munich’s training complex, as the Belgian coach oversaw an exceptionally large group because a substantial portion of the A‑squad remains on holiday after the World Cup for the next few weeks.
German media outlet reported that such a scenario has never been seen before at the German top club. The club’s usual training routine typically involves a compact first‑team group.
Kompany currently has only six players from the first core available. Reserve keeper Sven Ulreich, Tom Bischof and Arijon Ibrahimović are present, while João Palhinha, Sacha Boey and Armindo Sieb are training while awaiting a transfer.
The session took place at Bayern Munich’s training complex in the city of Munich. The remaining internationals are expected to return gradually over the coming weeks as their holidays conclude.
