Kluivert makes history in Europa League, Timber enjoys the evening

On an evening full of European action, Justin Kluivert scored in the eleventh minute the first ever European goal for Bournemouth, while Quinten Timber, with a starting place at Crystal Palace, enjoyed a carefree evening in which the English overwhelmed Lech Poznan with four goals.

Crystal Palace dominates Lech Poznan

For Crystal Palace, the European season began at home with a 4-0 victory over Lech Poznan. Yeremy Pino opened the scoring after ten minutes, after which Chris Richards scored the second goal. Jorgen Strand Larsen converted a penalty in the 34th minute and Eddie Nketiah extended the lead shortly before the final whistle.

With a starting place for Quinten Timber, the English launched from the kickoff and maintained control throughout the match.

Bournemouth makes European breakthrough

In Spain, the match between Real Sociedad and Bournemouth was marked by the European debut of the Cherries. Justin Kluivert made history in the eleventh minute when he scored the club's first European goal.

Not long after, teammate Rayan doubled the lead, after which Bournemouth went into the break trailing 1-2 and kept the final score unchanged.

With, among others, Justin Kluivert at Bournemouth and Quinten Timber at Crystal Palace, there was, besides obviously NEC, still plenty of Dutch activity on the European pitches.

The contrast between Kluivert's historic moment and Timber's carefree evening underscores the growing presence of Dutch players in the Europa League.
