Klopp praises German national team after goalless draw in Thessaloniki
Jürgen Klopp was surprisingly satisfied after the 0-0 draw against Greece in Thessaloniki and emphasized that the German national team had delivered an “incredible football match.” The head coach offered little criticism, even though the team again failed to secure a win.
Positive assessment despite missing a goal
Klopp described the performance as “very satisfying” and highlighted that 90 percent of the actions had worked “outstandingly.” He praised captain Florian Wirtz, who had “once again displayed an outstanding game,” and noted that the superior team could not score a goal.
The coach explained that the team had become a bit more unsettled from the 60th minute onward and that the sequences were no longer as clear. Despite this weakness, he was “very, very impressed” with the squad and its style of play.
In the first leg in Augsburg, the DFB selection had lost 0-1. After four Nations‑League matches, the Germans sit on five points in third place in Group 2, behind the Netherlands and Greece – a result that is not enough for the quarter‑finals.
Klopp concluded that the team had already shown changes and that a collective, defensive approach could enable further successes in the future.
