Klopp announces new shirt numbers for Nations League debut
With the first Nations League match under Jürgen Klopp, several shirt numbers change in the German national team, with Felix Nmecha and Nadiem Amiri especially in the spotlight. As the DFB published a few hours before the duel against the Netherlands, the new number allocation applies only to this match for now.
Number changes for experienced professionals
Felix Nmecha takes the number 8, which Leon Goretzka wore at the World Cup, while Nadiem Amiri moves from 20 to number 11 – the number that was assigned to Nick Woltemade in the last tournament. Both were the only players from the World Cup squad to change their back number.
Prominent numbers for newcomers
Several newcomers also receive striking numbers: Max Rosenfelder wears number 3 and Yannik Engelhardt number 5. The full list for the 23‑man squad also includes Yann Aurel Bisseck (2), Nico Schlotterbeck (15) and Younes Ebnoutalib (23).

Final adjustments in the squad
Klopp named a total of 24 players, but as only 23 professionals are allowed in the Nations League, Bambasé Conté missed the match in Amsterdam. For the next duel against Greece, Klopp already plans to bring Conté back into the matchday squad.
