Manchester City reaffirmed, through its chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, that the club will not let its “enemies” profit from the controversy surrounding it. In a statement released this weekend, the executive said the club remains “more motivated than ever to defend its honour and integrity”. This comment comes after The Athletic revealed that the club had committed 114 breaches of the Premier League’s regulatory rules.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak recalled that the Cityzens have already overcome similar challenges and that they “will not give the opportunity to those who want to undermine the club’s momentum”. He stressed that the Premier League investigations, covering the period 2009‑2018, “still have a long way to go”, while affirming the club’s confidence in proving its innocence.
The chairman also addressed the specific accusations, which include inaccurate or incomplete financial information, undeclared remuneration and violations of UEFA’s financial fair play. He indicated that these matters date back a decade of alleged offences.
