Kendouci’s Swiss Cup strike fuels summer transfer buzz
Algerian international Ahmed Kendouci opened his scoring account for FC Lugano on Sunday, netting the fifth goal in a 10‑1 Swiss Cup (Coupe de Suisse) demolition of Vedeggio Calcio, his strike arriving in the 38th minute, in the early stages of the contest.
He was in the starting lineup for the match. Kendouci recorded the fifth goal at the 38th minute. He was substituted in the 72nd minute.
He is a 27‑year‑old Algerian midfielder. He has earned 14 caps for Algeria (Alg). His contract with Lugano runs until June 2028.
Russian club shows interest
According to Sport24, Russian side Dynamo Makhachkala have expressed serious interest in the midfielder. The club is expected to act during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Lugano have set a price of roughly €1.8 million to release him. The club indicated that it would not shut the door on his departure, adding that Il remains open for negotiations.
His goal comes after a season that was heavily disrupted by a serious leg injury. The resurgence could speed up transfer discussions.
If a move materialises, it would likely be completed in the summer market. Such a transfer would see his future written outside Switzerland.
