Kelci Rose Bowers' debut volley sparks fresh start at Hashtag United

English forward Kelci Rose Bowers, partner of Argentine defender Marcos Senesi, has begun a new chapter by signing with Hashtag United, the London club that plays in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division, and marked her debut with a spectacular volley.

Hashtag United competes in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division, a promotion tier of English women’s football, and is based in London. The club’s ambition is to progress up the league ladder.

The transfer took place after the World Cup 2026, a tournament Bowers followed closely while Senesi represented Argentina. Their move back to England coincided with the conclusion of that global event.

Both players settled in London: Senesi joined Tottenham on a recent deal, and Bowers arrived to start her spell with Hashtag United. Their simultaneous relocation underscores a shared personal and professional step.

In her first friendly for the new side, the 22‑year‑old defender scored a volley after meeting a left‑wing cross and stepping into the box like a forward. The goal was captured in a video that Bowers later posted.

Bowers described the moment: “I got in the car, made it on time, entered the field and, guys, I actually received an assist and then scored a goal on my debut, so it went quite well actually, I was quite excited about that. It was a bit of a volley, with the left foot, although what matters is that I scored the goal, of course.”

Before joining Hashtag United, Bowers played for Bournemouth, where she accumulated 70 matches and 11 goals. With Bournemouth she won the FA Women’s National League Division One South West, the National League Plate and the FAWNL Cup.

Hashtag United recalled, with irony, that she had scored the winning goal in injury time the previous season. The club highlighted her knack for decisive strikes.

Bowers developed in the academies of Chelsea and Southampton, attended Louisiana State University (LSU), and represented England from the Under‑15 to the Under‑19 level. Her youth pedigree adds depth to her senior profile.

The signing was announced by Bowers on Instagram, where she posted photos in the new kit and a video titled “Next stop” showing her arriving by tube at Barkingside, the team’s base. Senesi reacted with “Show time”, and Bowers replied with two red hearts.

During the World Cup 2026, while Argentina reached the final, Bowers acted as the #1 fan of La Scaloneta, keeping a minute‑by‑minute diary of the tournament despite being born in England. She even documented the semifinal, where Argentina beat Britain 2‑1, confirming her support for her partner throughout the competition.
