Kean’s “shiloh” tattoo, Fiorentina start and Como’s chase
Moise Kean, who bears the Hebrew‑origin tattoo “shiloh” meaning “prince of peace”, starts for Fiorentina against Roma in the opening match, as Como intensifies its pursuit; Fiorentina have set a price tag of at least 40 million euros for the striker.
Shiloh tattoo and its meaning
"La parola “shiloh”, di origine ebraica, significa “il principe della pace”." Moise Kean has chosen to tattoo the word on his neck and the striker assigns it great personal significance given its prominence.
Friends use the noun “peace” to describe his current mood, noting that while everything around him may change, Kean remains calm within his small world, isolated from the rest. He certainly attributes an important meaning to the ink.
Como’s bid and Fiorentina’s stance
Como continues to pursue Kean eagerly, hoping to strengthen their attack and raise them to Champions League level, but they have taken time to craft a new offer that satisfies the Viola, which demands at least 40 million euros. Fiorentina’s asking price reflects their valuation of the striker. The original headline uses the Italian word “alla” to indicate “to the” in English.
Kean, however, is living without anxiety, leaving the final decision to the club that rescued and relaunched him two summers ago after a difficult spell at Juventus. His name is heavily discussed on the market, but it does not unsettle him.
The striker’s immediate focus is his league debut against Roma, where he will line up as the starting forward. He sees the match as a present moment rather than a future prospect.
Fabio Grosso intends to start Kean in the opening match at the Olimpico against the giallorossi, unless circumstances force a change. If needed, Mateo Pellegrino is expected to replace him, having been safeguarded before Como’s interest became concrete.
The squad also needs a backup after Roberto Piccoli’s departure, with attention turning to Premier League surplus players such as Liam Delap, Emanuel Emegha and Beto, the Portuguese naturalised from Guinea now at Everton after two seasons with Udinese.
Kean aims to shed the negativity of the previous season, which was disappointing for Fiorentina and personally marred by a recurring tibia problem that resurfaced. He missed the final month and a half of the campaign, with his last league goal coming on 23 February in a 1‑0 win over Pisa.
He broke the drought on 14 August with a celebrated goal in a 2‑0 Coppa Italia victory over Benevento, a right‑footed volley praised as a turning point. The strike was hoped to have broken the spell and reconnected him with his past form.
While Grosso would like to retain him, he acknowledges that an irresistible offer would make refusal impossible. He admits an irrefusable offer would be impossible to reject.
Elsewhere, Fabio Paratici is advancing a loan deal for Dutch forward Ernest Poku from Bayer Leverkusen, featuring an obligatory purchase clause worth 20 million euros, and is also working to finalize Dodo’s move to Nottingham Forest. These negotiations indicate the club’s broader transfer activity.
