Kane's record‑breaking 100th Bundesliga goal for Bayern eclipses Muller
Harry Kane's 100th Bundesliga goal propelled Bayern Munich to a dominant 7‑0 win over Union Berlin, securing the club's place at the top of the table. The England captain reached the milestone in his 98th league appearance, underscoring his immediate impact.
Record broken after 98 games
The strike broke a 49‑year record previously held by Cologne’s Dieter Muller, who needed 129 matches to reach 100 goals in 1977. Kane achieved the feat in just 98 games, a pace that had seemed inevitable given his scoring frequency.
Kane's scoring rate and season tally
Since joining Bayern in 2023, Kane has averaged a Bundesliga goal every 78.5 minutes. He has now amassed 152 goals in 154 appearances across all competitions, including 61 goals in 51 games during the last season.
The record‑breaking goal came from a 39th‑minute penalty, which Kane calmly slotted past the keeper. Early in the second half he added a second, nodding home a cross from Michael Olise to double Bayern’s lead.
Olise, who provided the assist, completed his first Bayern hat‑trick in the same match. Jamal Musiala also contributed, scoring a goal that helped seal the comprehensive victory.
"I’m very proud to have now scored 100 and 101 Bundesliga goals," Kane told Sky Germany. "With Michael, Lucho and Jamal I naturally get chances and today was no exception. Let’s keep going like this," he added.
The win lifted Bayern Munich to the summit of the Bundesliga, putting them ahead of the weekend fixtures. Their commanding performance leaves little doubt about their title ambitions.
