Kane's record 98th-game goal propels Bayern to a 7-0 win over Union Berlin

Great record Harry Kane: At Munich's Olympiastadion the Bayern celebrated a 7‑0 win against Union Berlin, with the Englishman scoring his 100th and 101st Bundesliga goal. The striker needed only 98 appearances for that and said he was “very proud of it”. The result temporarily put Bayern back on top of the table.

Fast 100‑Goal Record

Kane's 100th goal came in the 39th minute from a penalty, a ball he converted from the spot. With that he overtook Dieter Müller, who needed 129 games for his first 100 goals. The 33‑year‑old striker thus set a new Bundesliga record.

Just after the kickoff, Jamal Musiala put the ball in the net in the 18th minute, opening the scoring. Only a few minutes later, in the 42nd minute, Michael Olise scored for the first time, sparking the early offensive fireworks. Olise would later add two more goals.

Olise completed his hat‑trick with goals in the 73rd and 76th minute, always on the run towards the opponent's goal. Ismael Saibari added to the scorers list in the 70th minute. Olise's quick hat‑trick was the first time since the opening matchday that Bayern scored three goals thanks to a single player.

Coaching decisions and further contributions

Vincent Kompany, Bayern's coach, reshuffled his squad shortly before the international break. Due to a minor injury to his left adductor, Konrad Laimer was unavailable, while Serge Gnabry celebrated his comeback just before the end. Photographer Bernd Feil documented the events for the media.

With the win Bayern moved into first place, one point ahead of SC Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund, both of which only play on Saturday. Union Berlin remained winless and sits at the bottom of the table after a difficult start to the season since their promotion in 2019. The result came in the week of the 191st Oktoberfest, which goes ahead without a mandatory match for the record‑breaking champion.

Since his summer‑2023 transfer from Tottenham Hotspur, Kane has already scored 152 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern. This record puts him at seventh place on the club's all‑time scorers list. His rapid climb to the 100‑goal mark underscores the English striker's efficiency.
