Kane's 90th goal puts him alongside Messi and Ronaldo at Wembley

Harry Kane has hit the 90‑goal landmark for England, joining Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only players to reach that tally at international level. The achievement came against Czechia at Wembley during Matchday 4 of the UEFA Nations League.

First‑half dominance

England took the lead in the 25th minute when Vladimír Coufal turned a Kane cross into his own net. Six minutes later, Kane doubled the advantage, latching onto a lofted pass from Morgan Rogers and slotting low into the bottom‑left corner to make it 2‑0 before the break.

Second‑half seal and record‑breaking milestones

After the interval, Kane added a third goal, pushing the score to 3‑0 and raising his personal total to 91 for England. The strike also marked his 125th appearance, equalling Peter Shilton’s long‑standing record for the men’s national side, a mark set in 1990.

Only seven players have ever scored 90 or more goals for their country: Ali Daei, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Sunil Chhetri, Romelu Lukaku, Robert Lewandowski and now Kane. Ronaldo tops the list with 146 goals for Portugal, Messi sits second with 125 for Argentina, and Daei is third with 108.

Kane has already overtaken Wayne Rooney as England’s most‑capped outfield player and remains the nation’s all‑time leading scorer, sitting 38 goals clear of the former. He also holds the England World Cup scoring record with 14 goals, four more than Gary Lineker, and has netted seven times at the European Championship, a tally he shares with Alan Shearer.

The England captain is poised to break Shilton’s appearance record next month when the Three Lions face Croatia in Matchday 5 of the Nations League.
