Kadri's early strike fuels Gent's push for top spot in Belgium

Algerian international Abdelkahar Kadri opened the scoring in the first half of KAA Gent's weekend clash in Belgique, giving the side an early lead that set them on the path to a comfortable victory over Anderlecht Vidéo in front of a lively crowd at the Ghelamco Arena.
Kadri's decisive opening goal
Kadri started the ninth‑day encounter in the Jupiler Pro League and found the net in the 14th minute after a long drive towards the box. His run covered several dozen metres before he linked up with Tiago Araújo, who supplied the decisive pass.
The Algerian winger beat his marker at the edge of the penalty area, then struck a right‑footed, un‑controlled cross that deceived the Anderlecht keeper. The finish left the opposition stunned and put KAA Gent firmly in control.
He was substituted in the 68th minute while Gent still led 1‑0. The team went on to expand the margin, eventually delivering a 4‑0 rout.
