Juventus lock up Madrid Nico González until 2030 for Serie A side
Nicolás González, known as Nico González, after a season‑long loan at Atlético de Madrid, has secured a new deal with Juventus, extending his stay until 30 June 2030. The Argentine forward opened the campaign with two goals in his first five Serie A outings, cementing his role for the Serie A side.
Loan spell at Atlético de Madrid
During the previous campaign, Nico González spent the season on loan at Atlético de Madrid, a club overseen by Diego Simeone. He struggled to cement a starting berth, rotating between the bench and occasional appearances. The loan agreement contained a purchase option triggered by a minimum number of games, but that clause never activated.
Atlético de Madrid attempted to keep the Argentine forward, submitting a proposal to retain him. Juventus, however, found the terms unconvincing and elected to bring González back to Turin, offering him a fresh opportunity.
Return to Juventus and future plans
After the World Cup staged across Mexico, the United States and Canada, González returned to Italia. Nicolás González, a member of the Selección Argentina, signed a contract extension that runs until 30 June 2030, with Juventus praising his current form and importance within the Serie A squad.

The club’s official statement recalled that the Argentine arrived in Turin during the European summer of 2024. Since then he has featured in 45 matches, netting seven goals and providing five assists, underscoring his versatility across the attacking line.
The NÚMEROS presented by JUVE list NICO GONZÁLEZ CON the squad as a player capable of operating in multiple offensive positions, bringing experience and personality both on and off the pitch.
Con the new deal secured, Juventus can plan ahead for the coming seasons, relying on González’s proven goal‑scoring and assist record.
The contrast between a turbulent spell in Madrid and a growing influence in Turin highlights how the forward has turned a mixed loan into a long‑term commitment.
