Juventus lock down future of defender Alfonso Montero until 2028
Juventus have confirmed that defender Alfonso Montero, the 2007‑born son of former captain Paolo Montero, has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Turin club until the 2027‑28 season, with paperwork completed on a cool morning at the Juventus training complex.
La Juventus confirmed the agreement covers the 2027‑28 campaign, cementing the club’s commitment to the defender’s development. Club officials described the deal as a renewal of the bond forged during his spell with the Under‑20 side.
Alfonso has amassed more than 40 appearances for the Primavera squad across all competitions, demonstrating consistency and defensive awareness. He has built his reputation as a central defender within the Primavera structure.
He has also proved a threat on set‑pieces, scoring four goals in the Primavera league. His first senior goal arrived in 2024 during his debut in the UEFA Youth League, followed by three more in the Primavera 1 campaign last season.
Juventus announced his promotion to the club’s second team, a side once coached by his father Paolo Montero two years ago. The move places Alfonso alongside senior professionals, creating a bridge between youth football and the first‑team environment.
Massimo Brambilla, now in charge of the second team, will oversee Alfonso’s integration and monitor his progress against experienced opponents. Brambilla’s task is to test the youngster among senior players and evaluate his readiness for higher challenges.
The promotion offers a bridge between the youth ranks and the senior environment, positioning Alfonso for potential first‑team opportunities in the coming seasons.
