Juventus' injury woes deepen as fifth player faces months out
Juventus' new goalkeeper Kamil Grabara suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in a training session on 19 September, just two days after his debut in a 5-0 Europa League win over NEC Nijmegen, and was operated on in Poland later that day.
Season start marred by draws and defeats
A home draw against Milan (1-1) and a 3-2 loss away at Sassuolo have left Juventus seventh in Serie A after five rounds. The club’s poor start has seen them slip down the table despite a strong squad.
Luciano Spalletti, the Juventus head coach, warned that the injury curse may be as damaging as the results. Jordi Archs of Fútbol Internacional and Ter noted that the side’s fortunes are being undermined by a spate of setbacks.
Five surgeries in a month
Goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, who arrived on loan from Wolfsburgo, underwent surgery on his right knee after the ACL rupture. The 27‑year‑old Polish international could miss up to seven months.
