Juventus eye €40m deal for Brian Brobbey, Nick Woltemade still missing
Italy's record champion Juventus Turin is already looking for a replacement for the loaned striker Nick Woltemade, while the Bianconeri, according to del Sport, show strong interest in the Dutch international Brian Brobbey – a deal that is said to be around 40 million euros.
Woltemade's mixed record in Turin
The 24‑year‑old German international has been loaned to Juventus from Newcastle United for one season, without a purchase option. In Turin he has so far made four appearances, only once in the starting eleven of coach Luciano Spalletti, and has not yet scored a goal in Serie A. His only goal came in the Europa‑League against Nijmegen (5:0). Woltemade has not yet completed a full 90‑minute appearance.
Brobbey's possible arrival and price expectation
Brian Brobbey, currently under contract with AFC Sunderland until 2029, is in the focus of Juventus officials. The 24‑year‑old striker, who previously played for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, most recently impressed with a hat‑trick in the 3:5 win over the runners‑up Manchester City, before a thigh injury ruled him out of the Nations‑League match against Germany. It reports that Juventus is ready to pay 40 million euros for the transfer fee; in 2025 he moved from Ajax Amsterdam to Sunderland for 20 million euros.
Spalletti is described as a big fan of the “bulky” striker, which increases the likelihood of a transfer. Should Brobbey join Juventus, he could strengthen the club's attack in the summer, while Woltemade would remain only as a loanee without a purchase option.
Additionally, Juventus is said to be interested in centre‑back Virgil van Dijk, who could be signed on a free transfer in the summer of 2027 once his contract with Liverpool expires. A Juventus employee already observed van Dijk during the 1:1 draw against the German national team in Amsterdam.
