Juventus deem €60m price too steep for Bruno Fernandes
In a bustling newsroom in Turin, Italian journalists confirmed that Juventus have decided the €60m asking price set by Manchester United for Bruno Fernandes is beyond their reach. The 32‑year‑old midfielder, who has been linked with the Bianconeri, remains at Old Trafford as the Italian club weighs its options.
Juventus’ financial ceiling
According to the report, Juventus would need to meet a fee of €50‑60m – roughly £51m or $67.4m – to secure Fernandes. The club’s own outlet, TuttoJuve, stated that such a sum would make any negotiation “very difficult”. The headline in the Italian media read: “United are ready to sell Bruno Fernandes, but the fee is out of reach for Juventus”.
Juventus are not the only suitors; AC Milan and Galatasaray have also been mentioned as interested parties. Yet the financial hurdle appears to be the decisive factor, with the Bianconeri reportedly unable to stretch to the top end of the range.
Manchester United’s stance
Fernandes has been on Manchester United’s books since January 2020 and has become, arguably, the best player for the Red Devils. In 334 appearances he has scored 111 goals and provided 109 assists across all competitions. His contract runs until the summer of 2027, with an option for a further year, and United plan to trigger that extension.
Italian resurgence presses Turkey and puts the Red Devils under pressure
Club officials have publicly insisted the midfielder is not for sale, yet they would consider a deal if the price fell within the €50‑60m window. Journalist Mark Brus wrote that “the official position is that Fernandes is not for sale, but there would obviously be a price that could convince the club”. He added that interest is “definitely there” and that clubs may probe more closely in the coming weeks.
Manchester United have also signalled a desire to keep Fernandes at Old Trafford, emerging this week as the Red Devils aim to activate the contract extension. The club’s willingness to sell hinges on whether a buyer can meet the steep valuation.
Italian dominance in Bologna puts pressure on the Red Devils' chances
For now, Juventus appear to have made up their mind: the €60m tag is too high, leaving the Italian giants to watch from the sidelines as the transfer saga continues.
