Juventus bids €50 million for Carnesecchi, but Champions League remains uncertain

Juventus need a reliable goalkeeper for the next season, after having tried Vicario and Grabara as temporary solutions. The black‑and‑white club is targeting Marco Carnesecchi, but the transfer will depend on qualification for the Champions League and a large payment. Inter and Premier League clubs are watching the situation.

According to Tuttosport, via Calciomercato, the Bianconeri have been tracking the 26‑year‑old Marco Carnesecchi for some time. His contract with Atalanta expires in the summer of 2028, with no renewal negotiations underway.

Cristiano Giuntoli said he would not have shut the door on an offer of around €50 million this summer, but no club met the figure. The lack of a suitable bidder left the market open for the following summer.

Juventus tried to secure Emiliano Martinez, but Aston Villa’s demands were deemed too costly. It then turned to Guglielmo Vicario, who arrived on loan from Tottenham with an €8 million option, before signing Kamil Grabara as additional cover.

Grabara suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, forcing Frederic Massara to consult the list of free agents. Nevertheless, the management intends to invest appropriately in July.

Contract and competition

The contract of Carnesecchi with Atalanta, valid until 2028, could allow Juventus to negotiate a lower price with the Percassi family. Meanwhile, Inter, the team the goalkeeper supported as a child, will evaluate Josep Martinez and Ivan Provedel before deciding, while interest from Premier League clubs remains a constant threat.

If Juventus secures Champions League participation, Carnesecchi’s transfer will become more feasible; otherwise, the club will have to consider other options for the goalkeeper position.
