Juventus beat NEC Nijmegen with four new goal scorers

Juventus overcame NEC Nijmegen in their first Europa League match, imposing a clear advantage with five goals. Nico Gonzalez, Kerim Alajbegovic, Nick Woltemade (penalty), Zeki Çelik and Randal Kolo Muani sealed the result, all the scorers present in the summer market.

Match details and scorers

The match started immediately with the goal in the 9th minute by Nico Gonzalez, who took advantage of a rebound from Grabara to beat Polster. In the 24th minute Kerim Alajbegovic doubled the lead with a precise shot into the corner, while in the 35th Nick Woltemade converted a penalty awarded for a foul by Kabar on Gonzalez. Zeki Çelik finished the third period in the 75th minute, set up by Kolo Muani, who then added the fifth in the 82nd with a run into an empty box.

Line‑ups, injuries and Spalletti’s news

Spalletti lined up a 3‑4‑2‑1 formation with Grabara in goal, a defence made up of Kalulu, Gatti and Lucumí, and a midfield with Douglas Luiz, Sarr and McKennie. Among the substitutions, Bremer, Conceição and Koopmeiners came on in the second half. The coach had to cope with the absence of Yildiz, Locatelli, Cabal, Boga and the five omitted from the UEFA list: Rugani, Thuram, Zhegrova, Ekhator and Milik.

On the opposing side, Schreuder could not rely on Fonville, Kaplan, Emre Mor and goalkeeper Crettaz, all unavailable. Among the substitutes, Bram Nuytinck and Perr Schuurs featured, the latter returning to the field after almost three years since the knee injury.

Reactions and future outlook

Sporting director Massara emphasized the total confidence the club has in Spalletti, highlighting the arrival of eight new players compared with last season. The victory came immediately after the 3‑2 defeat to Sassuolo, providing positive signals ahead of the next Serie A round against Atalanta.

The match was refereed by Ukrainian Oleksii Derevinskyi, assisted by Oleksii Myronov, Dmytro Zaporozhenko and Klym Zabroda, with VAR operated by Denys Shurman and Englishman Stuart Attwell. As reported by European media, Juventus dominated possession, especially in the second half.

Meanwhile, Napoli defender Rafa Marin, back from his loan at Villarreal, told Radio Kiss Kiss: “The city, the club, the people… I like everything here.” Former Porto player Rodrigo Mora, interviewed by Sky Sport, added: “I think I am at a very prestigious club and the style of play they offer is an additional reason why I chose to come.”
