Juventus’ €25 million stall clears path for Como’s Lucumi bid
Como have entered direct talks to sign 28‑year‑old Colombian defender Jhon Lucumi from Bologna after Juventus hesitated over his €25 million asking price, Report says, citing Fabrizio Romano. The Serie A side hope to complete the move before the summer window closes, with the Colombian international currently linked with several clubs.
Como’s interest is driven by a need for central defenders after the club backed away from Trevoh Chalobah when Chelsea demanded €30 million plus add‑ons. Lucumi offers Serie A and Champions League experience at a lower salary, making him a cheaper alternative.
Juventus have long pursued Lucumi but appear unable to meet the €25 million asking price, which fell after his €28 million release clause expired.
Lucumi’s contract with Bologna runs down at the end of the season, and the club’s directors have promised him the opportunity to leave if the right offer arrives. His transfer to Sunderland collapsed a year ago, leaving the player frustrated. In addition to Juventus, Lucumi is linked with Inter, Galatasaray, Besiktas and Bournemouth, showing a broad range of suitors.
Signing Lucumi would give the Colombian international a fresh start and allow Como to reinforce their back line without a large outlay. Bologna would see a player depart as his contract expires, freeing wage space.
A photograph of Lucumi was taken in Mexico City during a FIFA World Cup 2026 Group K match, highlighting his international profile.
