La Juventus have defined the transaction with Genk for Ali Camara, an offensive winger born in 2008. Camara has been a fixture in Genk’s youth set‑up for five years. The agreement was reached ahead of his scheduled medical in Turin tomorrow.
Camara is already involved with every Belgian (Belgio) youth national team. In his first senior campaign in the Belgian second division last season he recorded one goal and two assists.
Next step in Turin
The teenager will travel to Torino for his medical examinations. Juventus plan to place him in the Next Gen squad, hoping he may emulate Rodrigo Bentancur’s rise from a South American signing to a first‑team regular.
The Camara deal coincides with Bologna’s recent acquisition of Colombian defender John Lucumì. Bologna paid €8 million plus roughly a 20 % future‑sale clause for the player in 2022. Juventus initially offered a loan of Cabal to reduce Bologna’s demand for a central defender, but the ex‑Verona player chose a move to Emilia instead.
Strategic overlap
By completing the Lucumì transaction, Juventus were able to secure Camara without triggering the agreed payment to Genk. The club thus added a prospect already on its radar while avoiding additional outlay to the Belgian side.
