Jürgen Klopp takes full responsibility for painful defeat in Augsburg
While Germany suffered a 0-1 defeat on Sunday evening at the WWK ARENA in Bavarian Augsburg, national coach Jürgen Klopp held himself unconditionally responsible. He blamed no player and emphasized that the setback was entirely his own fault.
Klopp's own fault
Klopp stated after the match that the lineup, the composition and the many substitutions were “100 percent on my account”. He saw the loss as part of a process, but pointed out that the team has not yet performed at the desired level.
No criticism of the players
The newly appointed national coach made it clear that the press should direct its criticism at him and urged to leave the players alone. “If you want to criticize anyone, do it with me,” he said resolutely.

Germany currently sits third in the Nations League group and still has two fixtures: at home against Serbia and an away match with Greece. The first match under Klopp earlier that week ended in a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
