Julian Brandt scores: Fifth goal for Ajax Amsterdam

Without the Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who was rested for the German national team, but with goal scorer Julian Brandt, Ajax Amsterdam secured the next win. The record champion defeated Willem II Tilburg 5-1 and climbed to fourth place after a convincing start.

Ajax, the Dutch record champion, won the match 5-1 (half‑time 2-0) against the league‑bottom Willem II Tilburg in the Eredivisie. The victory took the club to fourth place.

Captain Davy Klaassen, formerly of Werder Bremen, gave Ajax the lead in the 41st minute.

New signing Julian Brandt doubled the lead shortly before the break with his fifth goal in Ajax's ninth league match.

Goals in the second half

In the second half, Viktor Tsygankov scored in the 69th minute, Oscar Gloukh in the 74th, and former Hoffenheim player Kasper Dolberg in the 87th minute.

Like Brandt, Thilo Kehrer also started in the lineup, and both were substituted in the final third of the game.

Without Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who was rested by coach Michel for the upcoming international break, the goalkeeper is expected to make his comeback in the German goal after a 15‑month hiatus.
