Jamie O’Hara lashes out as Tottenham’s exit fuels row with Jason Cundy
Jamie O’Hara opened Tuesday night’s discussion by insisting Tottenham should have been relegated last season, a claim that followed the club’s Carabao Cup exit to Liverpool. The former Spurs midfielder later stormed out of the studio after a heated exchange with co‑host Jason Cundy.

Spurs’ cup night at Anfield

Roberto De Zerbi’s Spurs entered a rain‑soaked Anfield for the Carabao Cup tie, aware that a win was essential to keep any competition hopes alive. The match, broadcast in a Shutterstock Editorial piece, saw Liverpool dominate the early exchanges.

Liverpool secured a 3‑1 victory through goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai, each finding the net before half‑time. Tottenham’s defence struggled to contain the visitors, and the scoreline reflected a night without triumph for the Spurs.

Conor Gallagher pulled one back late on, scoring Tottenham’s first goal of the season after four league games without finding the net. His close‑range finish reduced the deficit to 2‑1, offering a fleeting spark for the side.

The final whistle confirmed a 3‑1 defeat, ending Spurs’ Carabao Cup campaign and extinguishing any remaining chance of silverware this season.

O’Hara’s on‑air outburst

On the show, Jamie O’Hara launched a tirade, declaring, “Seriously, what is going on? I feel like everyday I wake up and it’s the same thing.” He criticised the club’s inability to win, even after a £400million spend, and suggested the team should have been relegated.

Jason Cundy replied with sarcasm, dubbing the club’s woes a “disease” and noting that O’Hara had finally “scored at a Premier League ground” thanks to Gallagher’s goal. The exchange grew louder as O’Hara blamed Aston Villa and Everton for Tottenham’s survival and slammed the £50m signing of Mathys Tel.

After more than an hour of banter, O’Hara could not endure Cundy’s continued ribbing and walked out of studio. He returned after a short break to finish the second half of the programme, but the damage to his composure was evident.
