Jadon Sancho eyes January move as Russia rumours fade

At a modest training ground in Manchester, former Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho jogs with a non‑league side, keeping fit as his future hangs in the balance. The 26‑year‑old England international remains a free agent after departing Old Trafford over the summer, and reports suggest he is prepared to wait until January for the right offer.

Negotiations across continents

TEAMtalk reveals Sancho has spoken to numerous clubs, with discussions spanning Europe, Saudi Arabia’s Pro League, Major League Soccer in the United States and the wider Middle East. Interest has also emerged from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, though none have progressed to a concrete agreement.

A return to Borussia Dortmund was described as “one avenue Sancho was, and remains, particularly keen on”, yet Dortmund have signalled no intention to re‑sign him after securing Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri on loan. Head coach Niko Kovac admires Sancho, but the club is not making a move at present.

Russia and other options

Speculation linked Sancho with a move to FC Krasnodar in Russia, yet TT sources clarified that intermediaries, not Sancho’s camp, initiated those talks and the winger is not seriously considering a switch to Russia.

Further interest has been noted from clubs in Germany, France and Spain, as well as from Cesc Fàbregas’ Como, but all avenues remain at an early stage with no agreements in sight.

The priority, according to insiders, is finding a suitable sporting project rather than rushing into a contract merely to secure a club. Sancho’s representatives are assessing the options, meaning the player could remain unattached until the New Year if no suitable offer materialises.

TEAMtalk’s NEXT report underscores that Sancho’s patience reflects a desire to join a team that matches his ambitions, keeping his options open while he maintains fitness at the Manchester training facility.
