Italy's federation unveils Eurocopa 2032 stadium shortlist for UEFA

On Wednesday, the Federação Italiana de Futebol (FIGC) released a pre‑selection of fourteen stadiums that could host matches at the Eurocopa 2032, a tournament jointly organised by Italy and Turkey. The list has now been forwarded to UEFA for formal assessment.

Stadiums across Italy

The shortlist covers venues in thirteen Italian cities. Entre os locais indicados estão estádios em 13 cidades italianas. Rome features two options – the historic Estádio Olímpico and the proposed new Estádio de Pietralata, planned by the club Roma. The remaining cities are Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Salerno, Turin and Verona.

UEFA will now begin a detailed appraisal of the candidates, examining eleven thematic areas and roughly 120 operational requirements. Criteria include accessibility, sustainability, security, fan services, press facilities and television broadcast infrastructure. The evaluation process will determine which venues meet the standards for a major international event.

FIGC president Giovanni Malagò said, “We are satisfied, confirming the desire to offer cities and facilities worthy of a great international event.” The comment was posted on the federation’s official Twitter account alongside the hashtag #Uefa.

After UEFA’s review, the FIGC will select five stadiums to represent Italy at Eurocopa 2032. The final decision still requires UEFA’s approval, and no date has been announced for the completion of the assessment.
