Italy fields its XI to counter Turkey in Bologna

Three days after its clash at the Stade de France against the Blues, the Italian national team dives back into the Nations League to face Turkey this Monday evening in Bologna, with kickoff scheduled for 20:45. The starting eleven features Gianluigi Donnarumma between the posts, followed by Kayode, Scalvini, Bastoni and Calafiori in defence.

The national team hopes to finish this international gathering in the best possible way, convinced that every point matters against an opponent that has been performing quite well in recent matches.

It was in Turkey, precisely, that Roberto Mancini's men unlocked their win tally during the autumn camp, winning 4-1. This memory fuels the coach's confidence ahead of the Italian duel.

Turkey's strengths and weaknesses

Often troubled defensively and hampered by its offensive inefficiency, Turkey nevertheless has a game‑changer in the person of Arda Güler, capable of creating decisive chances.

A further home defeat would, however, be a real disappointment for Italy, which relies on the solidity of its system to avoid a loss in front of its fans.

The expected line‑ups are as follows: Italy – Donnarumma; Kayode, Scalvini, Bastoni, Calafiori; Barella, Tonali, Frattesi; Maldini, Kean, S. Esposito. Turkey – Bayindir; Çelik, Bardakcı, Kabak; Oğuz Aydın, Yüksek, Kökçü, Elmalı; Arda Güler, Yılmaz, Aktürkoğlu. The match will be broadcast on La Chaîne L’Équipe this Monday evening from 20:45.
