Italy beckons for Real Madrid’s loan target Franco Mastantuono
Franco Mastantuono, the 18‑year‑old Argentine midfielder, is set to leave Real Madrid on loan for the coming season, with Italia emerging as his likely destination, after a meeting this week where José Mourinho reportedly said he left a positive impression.
Reports confirm that Real Madrid will loan the youngster, who turned 19 on 14 August, to gain regular playing time. Mourinho’s endorsement adds weight to the decision, dismissing earlier rumors of a River move.
Potential suitors listed include La Fiorentina, Napoli, Milan and Roma, with La Fiorentina having recent contacts with Madrid. Napoli and Milan have previously engaged with the Merengue on similar deals.

Lazio, where fellow Argentines Paulo Dybala, Matías Soulé and newcomer Santiago Castro play, could become an option only if Soulé departs. Soulé has been linked with Premier League clubs, but that avenue is now considered closed for Mastantuono.
Earlier English‑league possibilities have been ruled out, narrowing the focus to clubs in Italia. Real Madrid emphasises that the exact club matters less than the role Mastantuono will receive, seeking a setting where the coach trusts him and he can accumulate minutes.
Mastantuono earned fame by starring in the Primera del Millonario and becoming the youngest ever Argentine to wear the #10 shirt. The loan is intended to help him refine his talent and reach his best version.
With Europa leagues set to kick off in August, the loan destination is expected to be finalised imminently. A photo of the player was supplied by EFE accompanying the announcement.
