Italian giants chase Endrick while Real Madrid decides his fate
José Mourinho’s first friendly back at Real Madrid ended in a draw with Fiorentina, and the Brazilian teenager Endrick was handed a rare start, scored a goal and hoped to convince the Portuguese coach that he belongs in the club’s plans for 2026/27. The match gave the 19‑year‑old a platform to showcase his abilities despite Real Madrid still lacking a full squad.
Endrick, who recorded eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances for OL during his loan spell, said he wants to persuade Mourinho that he deserves a place in the squad for the 2026/27 season. He believes a strong performance in the friendly can tip the balance in his favour.
According to the dello Sport, Roma have been monitoring the Brazilian forward for more than a month. The Giallorossi finished the 2025/26 Serie A in third place, securing a Champions League berth, and are seeking an offensive reinforcement that fits Gian Piero Gasperini’s philosophy.
Roma’s strategy mirrors the loan‑with‑purchase option used for Nico Paz from Como. The club is prepared to bring Endrick in on loan with an option to buy, even though the price demanded by the Spaniards is expected to be high. The plan also includes a possible buy‑back clause, a model previously applied to the Argentine midfielder in 2024.
Real Madrid have not indicated any willingness to part with Endrick and are waiting for Mourinho’s decision. Tony D’Amico, Roma’s sporting director, travelled to the Spanish capital to discuss the potential agreement with the Merengues.
Endrick’s previous stint at Lyon saw him operate on the right flank under Paulo Fonseca, and he now competes with Gonzalo García for a backup role to Kylian Mbappé. The arrival of Carlos Espí, signed from Levante for €25 million, adds further competition, while the club values the physical profile of the new signing for Mourinho’s system.
