Inter's defensive overhaul drives pursuit of Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah
Inter Milan are eyeing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah to fill a defensive void left by Marco Palestra’s move to Chelsea, with the Italian side targeting a summer signing and preparing an opening bid after the Blues set a €35 million asking price.
Sky Sport Italia Inter are considering sending a formal offer for Chelsea midfielder Trevoh Chalobah. Chelsea have set an asking price of €35 million for the 21‑year‑old England defender. Transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio says the Nerazzurri are preparing an opening bid.
Como previously submitted a €30 million bid that included add‑ons, but Chelsea rejected it. The Blues maintained their €35 million valuation despite the lower offer. Chelsea’s response was directed at securing the centre‑back for their defensive line.
Inter are seeking summer reinforcements in defence and on the right flank after Marco Palestra chose Chelsea over the defending Serie A champions. Anan Khalaili of Union Saint‑Gilloise has emerged as Inter’s primary target for the right wing‑back role. According to Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri have held positive talks with Khalaili’s camp in recent days.
Inter will need to meet at least €25 million to secure Chalobah’s services. This figure remains below Chelsea’s €35 million asking price, indicating a negotiation gap. Finalising the deal will depend on Inter’s ability to present a satisfactory offer and on any competing interest from other clubs.
